Blog Mommas

If you have been a long-time follower of my blog you may have noticed I no longer have the Picket Fence and Top Mommy Blogs buttons on my sidebar.  This was a conscious decision to stop myself from being so competitive with other bloggers.

Although competition can be a good thing, if the motives are questionable or the fun is not in it anymore you have to decide is it worth it.  I chose to change the vision of my blog to be more of a blessing to others, and eliminate the need for others to vote for my placement in the blogosphere.

You may be asking, "How do I promote my blog if I don't have it listed in one of these directories?"  Many of you may have found my blog through one of them, but there are other sites available that don't include competing for placement on a list.

Such as Blog Mommas!  Angela has a great site for promoting blogs.  She offers a forum for those of us looking for fellowship along with promotion.   Angela does a "Welcome" feature post to introduce your blog to the site.  She also chooses a Blog of the Week, Blog of the Month, and Blog of the Quarter in a friendly, not as competitive environment.

She has worked hard to create this directory.  In January she decided to start over, and has made quite a few improvements to it.  Blog Mommas is now on Facebook and Twitter which opens even more doors for promotion and fellowship.
