About "A Day In Our Life Blog Hop"

I have a tendency to leap before I have everything planned out.  Being a planner this causes for some nervous situations, and I know disaster will soon follow.

When I came up with the concept for A Day In Our Life Blog Hop the planning had not been complete, but I threw it out there anyway, dragging my friends Tracy and Anna-Marie along on a day that was especially busy for Tracy.  Of course in a moment of panic I also wondered, "Why am I doing this?  Do I really need to be starting something new right now?"

Let me begin by saying the button for this blog hop has a lot of meaning.  As you know a butterflies' life is very short.  It spent more of its' life being a caterpillar than the beautiful creature it now is.  In the same respect when I look back my days seem to have flown past me before I had time to enjoy them.  This blog hop is a chance for each of us to spend time relishing in our lives.  Holding the days of our lives for a moment longer before another day slips in.

Also, the transparency of the butterflies' wings speak to me of being more transparent in my life.  We all seem to wear masks, or feel we need to present a certain image of who we are.  I want others to see me for who I am with all my flaws, imperfections, and short-comings.  In an effort to remain humble in the Lord, but also to show appreciation for the wonders of YOU.

I have met an amazing amount of talented, brilliant, and gifted people on the blogosphere.  But, there tends to be a cycle of competitiveness that comes around once in a while.  My nature for being a peace keeper pushes me to offer an opportunity to extinguish that competition.  I want everyone to know they are appreciated and valuable.  My intentions may seem lofty, but I believe they are attainable.

If you would be interested in reminiscing in your days and participating in our non-competitive, non-judgmental, transparent, and peaceful A Day In Our Life Blog Hop here are the guidelines once more:

Pick any day from the past week and take 20-30 minutes to write a post about what you did.  It can be a photo(s), your menu for the day, your homeschool lessons, an outdoor activity, and/or a scripture you meditated on that day.  I encourage you to share your feelings and emotions from the day, or an "aha moment" you may have had.  The main idea is to be transparent while setting aside any perfectionist tendencies.

If you find yourself at the end of a particularly exceptional day you are writing a post about, head on over and link it up.  If you had one of those days where you felt lost or at your wits end, write a post and link up.  We are here for you on the good days and the bad.  Let us share the ups and downs of our blessed lives.  The link will be open every week from Saturday to Sunday.
